THE ISSUES
2023 Legislative Priorities

Pass the “Backpack Bill”

Give parents true choice in education by creating an education savings account system ($5,000 for K-8 and $7,500 for 9-12) that could be used for tuition at any participating school, tutoring, after school and summer school programs, school materials, or workforce training.

Pass the Ohio SAFE Act

Protect children by prohibiting sex reassignment surgery or the administration of hormone blocking drugs to minors. Preserve parental rights by requiring doctors and health care providers to fully inform parents of recommendations and referrals on gender counseling or care and prohibit courts from removing parental rights on the basis of a parent’s views on gender ideology.

Pass the Save Women’s Sports Act

Protect women’s sports by requiring schools, state institutions of higher education, and private colleges to designate single-sex sports teams.

Support the Constitutional Protection Act

Require a 60% supermajority to amend the Ohio Constitution.

Pass Judicial District Reform

Make the Ohio court system more efficient and responsive to the people by allowing for the election of common pleas court judges from areas encompassing less than the full county.

End the Ohio Income Tax

Create jobs and keep Ohio competitive by codifying the phase-out of the state income tax over the next eight to ten years.

End “ESG” Investment

End state investments in funds that put “Environmental, Social, and Governance” programs ahead of their fiduciary responsibilities to the people of Ohio. Prohibit all state agencies – including state pension funds, retirement programs, workers compensation funds, and universities – from doing business with financial institutions that engage in economic boycotts or viewpoint discrimination.
